According to this blog’s title, I am Jean-Philippe Rivard Lauzier. Welcome!
I am living in Montreal (Quebec, Canada) and working for Desjardins, the largest credit union in Canada. This is my professional blog where I am blogging mainly about information security, compliance and assurance. I have one main objective, I want to simplify subjects related to these fields. With my technical and business background, I believe it is my strength to be able to communicate with everyone in an organization from the management to more technical people. However, this is also my personal blog so I could blog about other subjects.
I did my first website around 2000 and started to work in IT in 2004. Back then, I was more on the technical side, mostly as an independent consultant doing web development. Since 2014, I have been more on the IT business side and fortunate to work with the largest firms such as PwC and Deloitte, but also to step in the startup life. Even try a few times my own projects, but I realized that I am better at helping people in their projects as an independent consultant.
For the academic background, I did a graduate degree in IT governance, a bachelor of business administration and a technical degree in computer sciences. I am a certified Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP), Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) and Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge (CCSK). I also passed the exam for the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and I will be certified in 2019.
